To Whom It May Concern

There is no separation between life and art, between photography and love. My photographs explore these interconnected elements, not only as a photographer but also as a partner—and at times, as a subject in my own work.

My partner is my primary subject, and in our relationship, nothing is off-limits. However, I’m not drawn to the risqué or sensational; instead, I find beauty in the mundane: walks to the supermarket, lazy afternoons in the park, long drives, and the simple daily moments we share. The language of photography resonates in these instances as much as it does in more dramatic circumstances, often illuminated by contrasting light that creates a distinct aesthetic. It’s a contradiction that my images may appear dark, while life itself has never been brighter.

I don’t set out to photograph anything specific, which has taught me to trust the process of photography. Capturing the images comes naturally, but that is just the beginning. Once the film is developed and scanned, I sometimes forget what I’ve captured. It’s only during the sequencing process that I begin to understand what I’m truly expressing.

My primary practice revolves around sequencing photographs into book form, with exhibitions centred on the books I’ve created. Within these books, the photographs coalesce to form a narrative drawn directly from my life. The resulting work speaks to whom it may concern.
