Ibukun

If I had it my way I would do the things I love. But that's not how the world works. My parents feel I've had enough fun. They reckon I should get back into the real world and start getting on the career grind, which I completely understand, especially from ethnic parents. I'm tossing up my options, I want to respect my parents’ wishes (and) I also want to respect my wishes as well. It's hard finding the balance.’

My images revolve around the theme of "TODAY/TOMORROW", exploring the importance of the present in shaping our future. Through paired images, I delve into ever-changing aspects of life: relationships, circumstances, and knowledge. It serves as a gentle nudge to appreciate the present.

My photography keeps me grounded in the here and now, allowing me to savour the present moment, acknowledge the natural flow of life, and find beauty in its simplicity.
